REFLECTIONS - Hypertension Global Newsletter #8: Latest clinical and real-world evidence

Welcome back to the REFLECTIONS Hypertension Global Newsletter series, which draws on the expertise of international physicians to summarize the latest clinical and real-world evidence in the field of hypertension and reflect on the clinical impact of these new data on the management of patients with hypertension.
Since our last newsletter, there have been many new and interesting publications in the active field of clinical research in hypertension; therefore, the Scientific Planning Committee (SPC) chose from an extensive list of articles from high-quality scientific journals. To make this final selection, we prioritised novel findings over confirmatory papers and articles directly applying to antihypertensive treatment in routine clinical practice.
In this newsletter, we will focus on
- blood pressure targets,
- single-pill combination treatments, and
- special populations, including older patients, those with diabetes, and those with obesity.
As with previous newsletters, we invite you to interact with this through links to commentary videos from authors of the publications, short video clinical perspectives from our SPC, and delve into the articles through hyperlinks for in-depth study.
